HG-145 Excellent WWII Dutch Kepi
This interesting item is produced in a light green wool that is as
clean as a whistle! There are two rows of dark blue piping around the center of
the cap. Each side has a pair of green ventilation holes. The visor is covered
in the same material as the rest of the cap. There is a light brown leather
chinstrap with a brass buckle. A small lion, finished in brown, is seen between
the blue piping at the front of the cap. There is a gilt button with a lion that
holds the gold and orange cloth cockade to the cap. The interior is fully lined
with a gold cloth that is excellent! There is a maker’s stamp at the top of
the dome. There is a brown leather sweatband which has a small tag at the rear
that indicates the size of the cap, which is “58”. Underneath the sweatband
there are a few markings; one is of a maker, which is “I.M.M.”. Other
markings are hand written and include “VH. 2D 52 58” and “842”.
Excellent and hard to find!
