HG-16c Scarce DAK Tropical Overseas Cap for
Medical Personnel, Choice; by Clemens Wagner
A superb tropical cap! The cap is in unissued condition and made from
fine brownish-olive colored cotton twill, with an authentic soutache in the
cornflower blue color of Medical Personnel on the front skirt arm. The material
is nice and firm for the cap body, with the side skirts thinner (since they are
unlined). There is a brownish-olive enameled air vent grommet on each side of
the cap (above the point of the skirt turn-up) and on the front there is a
superb, two-piece machine woven Other Ranks insignia. The eagle is in light
grey-blue thread on a mustard brown color backing. The machine woven cockade’s
diamond shaped woven rayon backing is tucked up into the bottom side apex of the
soutache. The size stamped 56 interior lining is the picture perfect dull red
color. The top is stamped “Clemens Wagner Braunschweig-Hamburg” along with
the date, which I cannot make out. An excellent item, in a scarce branch color!
