HG-2 Army Motorized Transport “Other Ranks”
Visor Cap
This cap features a body that is produced in field grey tricot wool.
There is moderate discoloration and a few tiny bites/areas of tracking on the
underside. The front peak is swept back, giving a quite jaunty look! The
sides gently slope down to the rear of the cap. The light blue piping,
identifying the wearer as Motorized Transport personnel, is near excellent with
minor discoloration only. The centerband is produced in a dark green badge
cloth, this shows lots of tracking and discoloration. The insignia consists of
an aluminum eagle and a zinc wreath, which is missing its finish. The cockade is
separate and has a red felt bull’s eye. The “Other Ranks” black leather
chinstrap is attached to the cap with a pair of small black buttons. The leather
shows lots of crazing and is quite dry. The black vulkanfibre visor is near
excellent, with slight wear to the edge of the brim. The underside of the visor
is finished in a reddish-brown and is crosshatched. The interior is fully lined
in a brownish-red ribbed cloth and shows some minor discoloration and wear. The
brown leather sweatband has some moderate discoloration and wear but remains
firmly attached to the cap. There is a small tear or two. The cap is a size 57.
Overall, a sound cap in a scarce branch color!
