HG-32 Kriegsmarine Bordmütze (Navy Overseas Cap)
Choice Navy Enlisted Man’s blue garrison cap (officially known as a
“Bordmütze” – “on board cap” in the German Navy) made of medium
weight navy blue wool. The exterior is in superb condition with a short nap. The
insignia is an outstanding machine woven (BeVo) Navy eagle in golden yellow
thread on a navy blue backing, and a machine embroidered cockade on a navy blue
rayon diamond. The top edge of the skirt is tacked securely to the front of the
cap body, below the eagle (usual). The cap is lined with smooth-textured black
cotton (probably a blend with rayon) cloth and is immaculate! There is a
manufacturer's stamp which indicates the cap was made is Paris by the firm of
“Chapellere Parisienns”. The size stamp is located to the right of this,
indicating the size of 60 (large). An absolutely mint quality cap!
