HG-50d Scarce Overseas Cap for Police Officer with
an Artillery Regiment
The wool body on this example, which is in the blue/green Police hue,
has some minor discoloration and a scattering of moth nips here and there; these
are all very small (no bigger than a pencil tip). There is some minor tracking
as well. Otherwise this scarcely seen cap is very sound and features a deeply
toned aluminum wire thread piping along the top sides of the crown. This would
indicate it is for an Officer. The insignia is bevo, with white cloth thread
over a black background. The separately applied, metal cockade is excellent! The
red soutache, indicating the owner was attached to an Artillery Regiment, is
prominently displayed around the Police eagle. The unmarked interior is fully
lined in a green rayon material; it is sound with minor discoloration from use.
A scarce cap from the Keith Williams’ collection!
