HG-58 Early Luftwaffe "Other
Ranks"
Visor Cap for Flak Personnel
Fine example made of regulation finely ribbed grey wool with the
black ribbed mohair centerband. The red piping (some nips on the wool piping)
identifies this as an Anti-Atillery Flak soldier's dress cap. The wool body is
quite clean and I could find only one small bite, which is hardly visible due to
its location on the underside of the top. This early example comes with a
beautifully matched set of polished aluminum insignia including a drooptail
eagle. The shiny patent leather chinstrap and visor
(crosshatched green on the underside) are in excellent condition with no
liabilities. The size 55 1/2 tan cloth lining still has the complete rhomboid
moisture shield with the maker's details on the underside, along with the date
of manufacture of 1938. The brown leather sweatband is excellent with no tears
or damage. The interior of the sweatband is extremely well marked and names the
Unit, right down to the Battery level (3rd Company Flak Rgt 5 16th Battery).
Very select example!
