HG-61b Luftwaffe Flight Base Mechanic Overseas Cap
This interesting cap is produced in a black twill material which has
some moderate wear and fading throughout. The insignia is machine embroidered,
with a Luftwaffe eagle in white over a blue/grey backing that has been crudely
hand applied, as well as a hand applied cockade of red/white/black over a blue/grey
backing. My gut tells me that the eagle is original to the cap, as it shows
similar wear and use. The interior is fully lined in purple rayon which is very
clean. It is a small size. A sound example of this type which is also associated
with Luftwaffe Panzer headgear!
