HG-67 Extremely Scarce Luftwaffe Tropical Pith Helmet, Blue Canvas
Material
The light blue exterior of this helmet has moderate soiling and some
noticeable water staining, but is otherwise in outstanding shape, with the
underlying shell in perfect form! The National color shield on the right side
(as worn) has the silver center bar toned dark, but is otherwise excellent. The
incredibly detailed, high quality nickel/ silver finished Luftwaffe Adler (eagle)
on the left side is lightly toned, and absolutely spectacular! The matching
colored cloth brim edge wrap is in fine condition. The interior is the exact
same color as the exterior, and unlined. The helmet is amazingly lightweight!
The Ersatzleder (substitute leather) deep reddish- brown sweatband (probably
“Alkor” material) has stiffened up over time and while complete and in
otherwise great shape, probably should not be bent. The band is mounted to the
inside of the helmet via a series of round pads covered in the same blue/grey
fabric as the helmet itself. Very cool piece!
