HG-67a Luftwaffe Tropical Pith Helmet
The tropical tan exterior of this helmet has very minor soiling and
some discoloration, but is otherwise in outstanding shape, with the underlying
shell in perfect form! The tri-color shield on the wearer’s right side is
missing most of the silver finish but is otherwise excellent. The Luftwaffe
adler on the left side is produced in zinc and remains tightly affixed to the
helmet despite missing a prong, the original silver finish is mostly missing.
The eagle is an original replacement to this helmet, as you can see the outline
of another Luftwaffe eagle behind and slight above this current one. The light
brown leather brim edge wrap is in fine condition, as is the same color
chinstrap. The interior has a green cloth lining underneath the brim, and a red
cloth dome lining. The helmet is amazingly lightweight! The light brown leather
sweatband remains soft and supple; this is size stamped “58”. Near excellent
example overall!
