HG-7 Private Purchase Army Cavalry Officer's Visor
Cap (ErEl "Privat")
This is the Cadillac of all visor caps, the prestigious ErEl Privat
model. It is produced in a top quality, very soft green doeskin wool that is
near excellent with minor discoloration only. There is a slight amount of
tracking and one or two tiny nips that are hardly worth mentioning. This cap has
a fairly prominent peak and a handsome teller form. The yellow piping, for
Cavalry personnel, is excellent with only slight discoloration. The centerband
is of a green badge cloth and is just fine. The silvered aluminum insignia
retains a majority of its original finish. The cockade is the vented style often
seen on ErEl-produced caps. The black Vulkanfibre visor shows some moderate
crazing but is just fine otherwise. The underside of the visor has a tan finish
and is crosshatched. The interior is fully lined in a green rayon material. This
displays some minor discoloration and has a minor repair to the upper panel. The
rhomboid-shaped, clear moisture shield is fully intact and remains securely
attached to the lining. It has the "ErEl Sonderklasse" motto, as well
as the specific model of this cap, "Privat", all in gold. There is a
small stain underneath the moisture shield. The light brown leather sweatband
has minor discoloration from use. There is a tear at the front, in the
perforated forehead area, but otherwise the sweatband is good. The wearer's left
side has the "ErEl Stirnschutze" motto in silver (this is what is
considered a "double ErEl"). The cap is a size 55. A desirable cap in
above average condition!
