HG-8 Army Infantry Officer’s Visor Cap
Constructed in a light green shade of a high quality Trikot wool, the
body of this cap shows some light tracking and discoloration. This is mostly
confined to the top and front of the cap, not a deal breaker, but definitely
there. There are also a few nips, below the center band, in the grey wool lower
body of the cap. Featuring a high peak that gently slopes back to the rear, it
is piped in white for Infantry. The piping is fully intact and excellent. The
dark green wool center band is excellent as well. The Leichtmetall (aluminum
alloy) Army eagle shows great detail and is flawless, as is the two-piece wreath
and cockade with red felt bull’s eye. A choice bullion Officer’s chincord
secured by two silver pebbled aluminum buttons and a shiny black Vulkanfibre
visor round out the exterior. Onto the interior, which is fully lined in a light
green, satiny material. It contains a clear celluloid rhomboid shaped moisture
shield, written on this is “Stirndruckfrei Deutsches Reichspatent” in silver
ink. The sweatband, black ink stamped on its underside with the size (55), is in
the same shade of green as the liner. It is perforated at the front and contains
the owner’s initials, WM, hand punched into the right side. The underside of
the visor is in a similar shade of green as the rest of the interior. An overall
sound example!
