HG-85 Scarce Variant Red Cross Officer’s Visor
Cap
"Choice" and " mint" are two adjectives to describe this
cap! It has many
of the standard features of a Red Cross Officer’s visor with the tricot grey
wool body and silver/ grey ribbed wool piping throughout. The centerband is made
of a fine napped purple wool material. Instead of the standard Red Cross eagle
and wreath, this came installed with a matched set of polished aluminum Army
insignia, which has always been on the cap. The exterior, including the Officer’s bullion chincord and pebbled side buttons, is superlative. The size
56 interior rates the same description! The grey rayon lining (few minor snags),
the complete rhomboid moisture shield and the tan leather sweatband are
virtually flawless. I have never owned or seen an example like this.
