HG-9 Sexy Army Other Ranks Extramütze (Private

This is a nice looking piece, made of a good quality Enlisted grade
Trikot wool. It has a neat, crushed back look with the front panels pushed
backward towards the peak, and the Veteran also attempted to add the pinch to each side of the peak point. The cap has suffered some
mothing however, with a couple of small holes present near the edges of the top
panel, and a small one on the front just above and to the right of the eagle –
though not especially noticeable. The cap band has a patchy appearance where
sections of the felt nap have been eaten away by insect vermin. This is
definitely noticeable, but really does not detract too badly if you don’t
focus on it. This cap has a fairly pointed peak, though the pinched sides keep
it relatively low. The cap is very nicely piped in a medium blue for Motorized
Transport personnel. The insignia is a matching metal set in zinc, with the
eagle still retaining a majority of the aluminum wash, the wreath however, is
matte grey (no finish remains). The patent leather Other Ranks chinstrap is in
good shape with surface crazing. The visor has a tad of wiggle play, but remains
pretty secure. The surface has fine crazing and a little dab of tan paint on the
left edge. The underside is dark reddish-tan. The approximate size 57 dark brown
natural leather sweatband is in excellent condition with only light soiling. The
reddish-gold ribbed rayon lining is heavily soiled except where the moisture
shield was once in place (lighter here). A decent cap that has suffered
somewhat, but still looks pretty cool.
