HG-9 Handsome, Named Private Purchase Medical
Officer’s Visor Cap
This handsome example is produced in soft, quality wool. It is a
light shade of green, remaining very clean and damage-free with just the
slightest hint of wear. The peak is fairly prominent, with gently sloping sides.
The blue Medical piping is excellent, remaining fully intact. The center band is
produced in a dark green badge cloth, there is slight tracking but nothing to
worry about! The silvered aluminum insignia is excellent as well, with just
slight wear. We received this cap without an eagle, so this eagle is an original
replacement, installed properly by us. This is in an effort to provide full
disclosure and not because you can tell it is a replacement! It perfectly
matches the rest of the insignia. The double chincord is produced in silver
bullion and is retained to the cap by a pair of small pebbled silver finished
buttons. The Vulkanfibre visor shows some very minor crazing and has a few very
small chips in the piano black finish. The underside of the visor is lightly
crosshatched and finished in a light tan hue. The interior is fully lined in
light golden rayon, there is some minor discoloration and wear from use. A
clear, rhomboid shaped moisture shield is in place, this has just one small
section missing. It is marked in silver (just the top is intact, but you can see
the shadow of the rest) with the maker’s information, which reads “Adler
Marke, Deutsches Qualitats Erzeugnis” or “Eagle Mark, German Quality
Product” followed by “Stirndruckfrei” or “Pressure-Free Forehead”.
There is a paper tag in the slot of the moisture shield which reads "Owner,
P. Heinz" (thank you to Gary W. for this clarification!). The light brown leather sweatband is perforated
at the front. There is some minor discoloration throughout and a few tears but
it is mostly intact. The cap is a size 57. A very sound item!
