HG-9a Private Purchase (Co-Op Maker) Army Medical
Officer’s Visor Cap
This Medical Officer’s cap is produced in a very soft, field grey
trikot wool that is clean and damage-free! The peak is fairly low, and the sides
slope gently down to the back of the cap. The cornflower blue piping checks in
just perfectly. The center band, of green badge cloth, is excellent as well. The
leichtmetall wreath and Army eagle have a silver finish that is fully intact.
The cockade, produced in zinc with a red felt bull’s eye, is missing most of
the silver finish. The Officer’s bullion chincords are excellent and securely
affixed to the cap via a pair of small silver pebbled aluminum buttons. The
black lacquer vulkanfibre visor looks great with only slight wear where the chin
cords have been resting for all of these years. The underside of the visor is
finished in a matte tan. The interior is fully lined in a goldish rayon that is
extremely clean. The sweatband is produced in a brown ersatz leather (like an
Enlisted cap) that has stiffened up and has a few cracks and tears. There is a
large, rhomboid shaped, clear moisture shield that is marked with the gilt
script “Deutsche Werkarbeit”. This is superimposed over some sort of logo.
There is no other maker’s name listed as this was produced by a co-op group (ARGO)
of manufacturers. The size is indicated as “3”, meaning it is a 53. A near
excellent example overall!
