H-181 Named Model 1940 Single Decal SS Helmet
Absolutely pure, untouched, original ET helmet. The smooth textured
green paint is an honest 85% with most of what is missing on the top. The
textbook ET decal is a respectable 85%, showing moderate wear. The size 57 liner
with original drawstring is darker in some areas and there is some paint missing
in the dome area. It has the zinc linerband. The rear rivet is a bit loose
(visible from the outside) but a careful examination shows it's never been
played with. The leather is supple and there are no tears or repairs. The side
of the interior of the shell is stamped ET 64 and the production number stamped
in the rear of the skirt is an astounding 61. The SS Mann had painted his name (Kirstein
E.) in the skirt. This piece comes with what is I am confident is its original
chinstrap. This is black leather with zinc fittings and is missing the portion
beyond the buckle. It's in very good shape. A very sound example.
