H-190 Scarce Model 1942 Single Decal SS Helmet,
Complete with Remnants of Net
This beauty retains approximately 90% of its dark feldgrau combat
finish, some areas even have some of the rough texture left! The runic shield is
a sight to behold, having toned to a champagne-like hue and remaining a solid
95% intact. The XRFacts team was intrigued by this scarce variant because of the
thick runes found on this example. The “spectrum” reading was virtually
identical to one in the data base that was an EF Champagne example. The
light brown leather size stamped 56 liner is super clean with some moderate
scuffing and a tear at the forehead area. There is one tongue with a torn
eyelet, but otherwise it’s sound. There is a drawstring and a non-reinforced
zinc linerband. The rear of the skirt is stamped “EF 64”, indicating
manufacture by Emaillierwerke of Fulda in size 64. Also seen here is the steel
lot number, which is (rather crudely stamped, a characteristic of this factory)
“2887”. The chinstrap is black leather with metal fittings and in excellent
condition! Rare variant!
