H-209 Model 1916 Austrian Production Helmet With
Scarce Cover
This great example retains nearly all of its original brown paint. No
doubt this is due to the fact that the cover has been in place for a long period
of time! Inside, the three-pad, brown leather liner is intact and retains most
of the padding material. The steel linerband is original as well. The side of
the interior is stamped “6B66”, indicating the size is a 66. The light
tan cloth cover itself is in near excellent condition with moderate
discoloration and a few stains. There are a few very small tears at the lower
skirt area. The leather vent grommets and adjustment string are fully intact and
excellent. The original tan canvas chin strap is in place, it has a lot of wear
and is very delicate but it is still complete! A very desirable item!
