H-210 Scarce Model 1916 German Camouflage Helmet
with Battle Damage
These just don't come around much anymore. The distinctive patch
pattern of camouflage colors of light and dark greens, reds and browns are still
quite vivid and over 90% present. There is some rust on the front visor
and along the rolled edge on the left side, but otherwise it's quite sound. This
one took a shell (probably a deflect) right above the visor. It penetrated
the paint but not the shell. All three pads and cushions are present but these
are torn away from the linerband except for one string each, which kept them
from getting lost. It's neat because you can see the ink stampings (can't
make out what it says) on the underside of each leather tongue. The linerband
has a crimp where the bullet had pushed in the shell. WWI camos are like
diamonds these days.
