H-221 Very Sound, Early Named Model 1935 Double
Decal Luftwaffe Helmet
The smooth dark blue paint is easily 90% intact with the only real
area missing paint being on the top of the shell. The early droop tail
Luftwaffe eagle decal is 97% intact. The tri-color shield did not fare as
well, but still checks in at a sound 70%. The size 57 liner with original
drawstring is in near excellent condition with some scuffing around the edges
but no tears or repairs. The interior of the liner is stamped in black
ink to a Fl. Gr. (Flight Group). I couldn't get you a clear picture
because the drawstring was closely tied and I do not ever touch them. The
side of the interior of the shell is stamped (lightly) Q 64. The rear of
the shell has the owner's name (Heimlich) and a new Unit designation L.N. Kp,
which I believe is for a Signals Unit. This smart example is complete
with an early vintage brown leather chinstrap in very stable condition.
