H-223  Model 1935 Luftwaffe Double Decal Helmet
This untouched example retains a solid 97% of its factory smoothly applied finish, which is a dark hue of Luftwaffe blue/grey. The second pattern Luftwaffe eagle, on the left side, has some wear but still remains 75% intact, and the tri-color decal checks in just a bit better, at 80%. The interior has a brown leather liner, which is a size 56 and has a drawstring. The reinforced aluminum linerband is maker marked, dated 1938 and size stamped 56. The side of the interior is stamped “E. F. 64” indicating production by Emaillerwerke AG in Fulda in the size of 64. The rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number of “3820”, which indicates that the shell was produced some time in early 1938. There is also a dome stamp which attributes this helmet to Luftwaffe FlaK Regiment 8 of Fürth, which is in the northern part of Bavaria. An honest-to-goodness example, untouched and well-marked!
