H-223 Excellent, Early Model 1935 Luftwaffe Double
Decal Helmet
This fine example retains approximately 90% of its original, smoothly
applied Luftwaffe blue/grey finish; the majority of the missing finish is
relegated to the upper dome area and is more than likely the result of it being
stored with others stacked on top of it. Take a look at this handsome bird! It
is an early, drooptail example that remains 98% intact, with fantastic details!
The tri-color shield is excellent as well, checking in at the same 98% intact,
and being nicely toned. The interior is super clean, with only minor signs
of use. The light brown leather, size stamped 54 liner has just a hint of
discoloration, and retains its drawstring. The liner remains soft and supple,
and is retained by a reinforced aluminum liner band that is manufacturer marked
and dated, 1939. The shell is stamped ET 62 on the side of the interior
and 4192 in the rear of the skirt. The icing on the cake is an excellent correct
brown leather chinstrap with aluminum buckle and fittings. Don’t miss out on
this one, as this as crisp as they come these days! Another MAX Show 2009
purchase!
