H-224c Model 1935 Luftwaffe Single (Originally
Double) Decal Helmet
This example retains a solid 95% of its originally applied, smooth
Luftwaffe blue grey finish. There is a 2nd pattern Luftwaffe eagle decal on the
left side; this remains 80% intact. The right side originally had a tri-color
shield, but this has been removed. The interior has a dark brown leather size 56
liner which has moderate discoloration and minor wear from use. There is a
drawstring and a reinforced aluminum linerband that is maker marked, dated 1939
and size marked 56. The side of the interior is stamped “Q 64”, indicating
production by F.W. Quist of Esslingen in the size of 64. The rear of the skirt
is stamped with the steel lot number of “1379”. There is a leather chinstrap
with metal fittings, it has been slightly shortened but is still long enough to
go through the buckle. A sound example priced to move!
