H-225 Reissued Model 1935 Luftwaffe Combat Helmet

The rough textured grey reissue combat finish is 95% intact on this
example. You can clearly see the Luftwaffe eagle and tri-color shield under the
combat paint, as well as some of the smooth blue/grey original finish where the
combat finish has worn off. The light brown size 59 leather liner is moderately
scuffed, but is soft, supple and clean! There is a full-length drawstring, and a
non-reinforced, manufacturer marked and dated zinc liner band. This was done
when the helmet was returned to the factory and reissued. We know that the
shell size is a 66, although the reissued finish has covered the
manufacturer’s stamping. The chinstrap must have passed the test during the
reissue, as it is an earlier brown leather example with an aluminum buckle.
A great example of this seldom encountered “type” helmet!
