H-226a Model 1940 Luftwaffe Single Decal Helmet
A fine example that has nearly all of its Luftwaffe blue/grey finish
intact, checking in at an impressive 95%! The Luftwaffe eagle has toned a bit
and remains a solid 90% + intact. The brown leather liner is very soft and
supple and shows only the slightest bit of wear. It is complete with original
drawstring. It is a size 58 and is retained to the helmet by a size
marked, non-reinforced zinc linerband. The side of the interior is stamped “Q
66”, indicating production by F.W. Quist of Esslingen in the size of 66. The
rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number of “R 577”. Also
included is a very nice black leather chinstrap with metal fittings. A near
excellent example!
