H-227 Very Sharp Model 1942 Single Decal Luftwaffe
Combat Helmet
The semi-rough textured Luftwaffe grey paint is virtually intact with
the exception of some scuffing that does not go through to the metal. The decal
is a strong 90% and shows some honest wear. The size 55 liner with its original
drawstring is cherry! The side of the interior shell is stamped NS 62 for the
maker (who is Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, Schwerte). This is one of the
less commonly encountered makers. The 62 shell size coincides perfectly with the
size of the liner which has the non-reinforced zinc linerband. It's complete
with a black leather chinstrap which is sound but slightly shortened. Very fine
example.
