Unissued Model 1940 Luftwaffe Single
Decal Helmet
This excellent example shows just storage wear to the rough texture
matte blue/grey Luftwaffe finish. In order to put a number to it, let’s say
it’s 98%. The adler decal is almost fully intact, only a scratch on the
swastika keeps it from being perfect. The interior is as new, with a brown
leather size stamped 58 liner that looks unworn. There is some minor scuffing to
the lower edge, no doubt from being stacked on top of another helmet. There is a
full-length drawstring as well. The liner band is a non-reinforced zinc example.
The side of the interior is stamped “Q 66”, indicating production by the
Quist factory in the size 66. The production run number, found at the rear of
the skirt, is 10407. A top shelf example!
