H-240 Model 1942 Single Decal Luftwaffe Helmet
A fine example retaining approximately 90% of its original Luftwaffe
dark blue/grey paint. The second pattern eagle is excellent with a crisp
strike and is 90% intact, most of the missing amount being from the upper left
leg of the swastika. The stamped size 57 liner is very clean, but four of
the eight tongues have torn eyelets where the drawstring was. There is
also moderate scuffing throughout the liner. There is a non-reinforced
zinc liner band that is manufacturer marked and dated as well. The inner
side of the shell is marked with the manufacturer’s code and size (ET 64).
Rounding this one out is a stamped chinstrap (manufacturer and date, 42) with an
aluminum buckle. A textbook example!
