Single Decal Luftwaffe Combat Helmet
That's right...I've said it because I do not believe this helmet was
every issued!! It is so choice, it might have been picked up in the
factory (although it's not a late-war production). Ok you look at the pictures
and tell me if I'm wrong! The rough textured grey combat paint is 100%
intact. Yup - other than some areas where there is a bit of scuffing in
the paint (that doesn't go below the surface), it's all there. The Luftwaffe
decal is 99% with a few extremely small nicks in one wing. The size stamped 57
liner may never have had a drawstring. There is some considerable scuffing to
the edges of the leather but I believe this is all from storage and time, not
use and abuse. The side of the interior of the shell is stamped ET 64. The
thick black leather chinstrap is marked (Wien maker) and dated 942 (the 1 is
missing because the incised stamping is on the edge of the strap).
Opportunities like this do not come along too often.
