H-249 Model 1916 Austrian Reissue Combat Helmet
with Zimmerat Camouflage Paint
Untouched, uncleaned right out of the proverbial woodwork example.
The helmet was reissued mid-war without decals and with the gritty textured
finish over the original WWI type paint. I would say overall 90% of either the
original paint or the zimmerat textured finish remains. The zimmerat is about
50%. The large size 58 liner with original drawstring is in near excellent
condition with no repairs or tears. There is some surface rust on the interior
of the shell. The linerband is zinc. The entire later vintage chinstrap is
full length but it's broken right at the "D" ring on the short buckle
side. Very interesting helmet.
