H-250 RARE German Production Chinese Helmet
This is a German Model 1935 helmet that was reissued for use by the
Chinese. It is a very early Model 1935 and retains 80% of its apple green parade
finish. The Army decal was buffed off (in a circular pattern) and a Chinese
decal was applied in its place. The interior is all German, with a Model 1931
brown leather liner with drawstring. This shows some moderate discoloration and
minor wear, but remains soft and supple. The non-reinforced aluminum
liner band is maker marked, size marked (the size of the shell, 62) and dated a
very early 1936. The side of the interior is stamped “SE 62”, indicating
production by Sachsische Emaillerwerke of Lauterin the size
of 62. The rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number of 3078,
indicating an early 1937 production. There is a brown leather chinstrap with
aluminum fittings. Also seen is a green canvas string looped through the rear
rivet hole (rivet intentionally removed for this). Have you seen another? Very
interesting!
