H-252 Model 1918 Army Single Decal Transitional Helmet
This is a very late reissue, so late in fact, that there isn’t a tri-color
shield on the right side! It was a full reissue with that exception, so it has a
dark green, rough texture finish that remains a solid 95% intact overall. The
Army decal has no shellac to protect it but it still manages to be 75% (all the
important stuff remains!) intact. The interior received a Model 1931 type liner
with a non-reinforced band and a brown leather liner that has moderate
discoloration and wear with minor scuffing. There is a partial drawstring as
well. Interestingly, the upper dome still retains the original WWI color green.
There is a faint white paint mark at the top of the dome, too. The shell
markings were covered with the reissue finish, but this appears to be a size 66.
An above average example of this “type”!
