Interesting example, as I shall explain. The dark green combat
paint is 70% intact and the nicely toned Army decal is about the same, with some
wear and smudging. Take a close look at the exterior of the Austrian lug
set up. When they reissued this helmet during WWII, they filed down the
lug on the exterior of the shell and cut off a portion of the lug on the
interior. You do not see that very often! The size 57 liner with its
original drawstring is very nice with only a minimum amount of scuffing.
The side of the interior of the shell is stamped AW 64 (this is hard to
see). The chinstrap was broken and I simply taped it for display
purposes. Nice example for the budget-minded collector.
