Police Helmet
The dark, smooth textured, apple green paint is a modest 98%, while
the party shield is just about as close to 100% as you can get. Here is
where it gets interesting…the Police decal, which rates 80% intact, is
bordered! This is highly unusual but I have seen it before. Chances are the
aluminum reinforced linerband is dated 1940 but I am not going to try to bend
the liner to find this out. This is a great "type variant" and quite
desirable to serious helmet collectors. The size 53 stamped liner with tightly
drawn original drawstring is near excellent with the usual scuffs but no tears
or repairs. The side of the interior of the shell is stamped SE60 (this is not
very clear). An all around interesting piece.
