U-062a Scarce SS Assault Gun Wrapper for Enlisted
Man
This is produced in a field grey wool that retains a majority of its
original nap and is super clean! There is a small nip with some minor tracking
on the left side front, otherwise it is excellent! Every button is intact, with
the closure buttons (at the seam, collar and wrists) being bakelite and the
shoulder board examples being field grey finished pebbled zinc. The slip-on
boards are produced in a black wool with red piping, indicating attachment to an
Artillery Unit. The upper left sleeve has a machine embroidered SS eagle, this
is produced in black with silver/grey thread and has been hand applied. The
interior is partially lined in a blue/grey rayon (minor discoloration) that has
an interesting weave similar to HBT. There is a large ink stamp on the upper
left side, which has all of the size information etc. There are straps for the
belt hooks that are produced in the same material. Also seen are two wool tabs
around the left side stomach area that attach to two small button on the right
side. Two sets of green cloth ties are seen as well. A scarce example in
excellent condition overall!
