U-100 Restored Luftwaffe Flak Enlisted Man’s
Four Pocket Service Tunic
This is produced in a Luftwaffe blue/grey wool and shows only minor
wear and discoloration. There is minor tracking visible in a few areas as well.
The tunic has a four button front and four pleated pockets with straight flaps.
All of the buttons are silver finished, pebbled metal. The slip-on shoulder
boards are produced in blue/grey wool with red piping for Flak (Artillery)
personnel. The red badge cloth collar tabs have a single metal gull each,
indicating the Enlisted Rank of Flieger (roughly equivalent to a Private). Also
seen is a machine applied Luftwaffe breast eagle, machine embroidered in
a white cloth with a blue/grey wool backing. All of the insignia is original and
has been nicely reapplied to the tunic. The interior is fully lined in a grey/green
cloth and shows some minor discoloration from use. There is a single interior
pocket on the left side. This pocket is issue stamped in black ink, what I can
read is “Flieger….komman….Garde”. Just above the pocket there are
stamps for the size as well as L.B.A. 38, indicating it was produced in 1938. A
name that appears to read “Otto Hamar” is also stamped in black ink under
the size markings. There are straps for the belt hooks, produced in the same
green/grey cloth as the liner. An above average example, priced to move!
