U-120 Army Corporal's Waffenrock,
Waffengattung (Branch) Artillerie
The deep red piping throughout, used by the Army as the branch color
for Artillery Troops, makes for a sharp-looking Waffenrock (Parade Dress
Tunic). The tunic is made of standard regulation wool, and overall the condition
of the body is very sound with no damage. The collar has a nice set of machine
woven aluminum cloth Litzen (tabs) on red tab backings. The sew-in shoulder
boards are dark green with red piping. At one time they had chain stitch
embroidered number ‘50’ (for the Regiment), but these were removed once the
war broke out. The shoulder board buttons are each molded with the number
‘2’. The two Ärmelpatten (cuff tabs) on each cuff are also in machine woven
aluminum cloth, on the red backings. The tunic has a handsome NCO style
hand embroidered flat wire breast Adler (eagle) in excellent condition, but this
has been collector re-applied to the tunic. There are two sets of loops
for badges. The size 36-37 tunic is fully lined in a brown cloth
material. It is clearly stamped on the interior with the sizes and issue date
(36) and depot (H). Overall quite sound, and priced to sell quickly.
