U-127c Army Waffenrock for an Infantry
Hauptmann (Captain) Reservist, with “40” Ciphers; Clean,
Well-Decorated
Extremely sharp! This Waffenrock is in great condition with only a
few very small, nearly unnoticeable repairs to the super fine grain field grey
Trikot wool fabric, and one small hole on the left sleeve (perhaps 1/8” in
diameter). The tunic is very smartly tailored to about a size 36. The blue/green
badge cloth collar is excellent and all the white Infantry branch piping is also
in fine condition. The embroidered fine gauge bullion collar tabs and cuff tabs
are outstanding with the white Infantry facings showing only slight yellowing.
The sew-in shoulder boards in shiny aluminum braid are full excellent with two
gilt pips on each, for the rank of Captain. Between the pips on each board there
is a set of gilt metal “40” numeral ciphers - very lightly toned. The white
Infantry underlay is in fine condition, and between this and the braid is the
grey secondary underlay that indicated Reserve Officer status. There is nice a
War Merit Cross 2nd Class ribbon affixed to the second buttonhole. The left
breast has a set of loops for a short ribbon bar. Lower on the breast there are
two sets of loops for medals or badges, though the top loop of the lower set is
broken through. The aluminum bullion Officer’s breast eagle is a real nice
example. The interior is fully lined in grey cotton/rayon blend twill fabric.
The tunic has the waist cinch belt straps, with plated fittings. Very sharp
example of this oft-overlooked uniform type.
