U-128a Scarce Early Army Mountain Trooper (Gebrigsjager)
Anorak
This scarcely seen anorak was used by Army Mountain Troopers. It is
produced in a heavy-duty, waterproof green cloth which has some minor
discoloration and wear throughout. There are two pencil tip sized holes on the
front, and two larger ones on the lower rear; these are very minor and barely a
distraction. It is a pullover with a zippered neck. There is a large pocket at
the chest with a horizontal zipper closure. Each of the zippers is marked
“Elite” and has a brown leather pull tab. The one for the neck closure is
missing a few teeth, hence it does not function properly. There are two hip
pockets with straight flaps. This anorak has the built-in hood with a rope tie
closure. The ends of the rope have white Bakelite, bell shaped stops. There is a
cinch rope at the waist with the same type of stops. The end of each cuff has an
internal elasticized closure. The early BeVo Army eagle has been machine applied
to the tunic and is original to the piece. The right sleeve has a machine
embroidered Jager patch that has been machine applied as well. The interior is
unlined. As this was meant to fit the wearer below the waist, there is a crotch
strap (usually referred to as a tail) that goes between the wearer’s legs.
This is produced in the same material as the rest of the coat. It is a size
38/40. A desirable item in sound collectible condition!
