U-161 Kriegsmarine Foul Weather Coat
This Kriegsmarine foul weather coat is produced in black leather. The
coat has minor wear and discoloration and one slight tear on the right shoulder.
The leather is soft and supple. There are three pockets with straight flaps; two
on the left side and just a single hip pocket on the right. There is a
five-button closure, each button is a large (24mm), gilt Naval anchor type,
including the examples on the cuffs. These are all replacements on the coat, but
are original examples. The interior is lined in black wool and there is a single
pocket on the right side. There is a tag in the neck area, this has been
partially torn or cut. You can clearly read the year of production, which is
1941, and the size, which is 52 (fits like a size 38). The sleeves are fully
lined in grey cloth. An above-average example!
