U-211 Near Mint German Tropical Ribbed Service
Breeches
These are produced in a tropical green ribbed corduroy material that
is excellent with just the slightest hint of discoloration. There are slash type
hip pockets and a watch pocket on the right side with the small metal ring just
above. The rear has a single pocket on the right side. The lower legs have cloth
string closures. There is a six button fly (all buttons present and produced in
zinc) and a built-in tan canvas webbed belt. The metal claw buckle retains a
hint of its original tan finish. All of the straps and buttons for the
suspenders are present. The interior has a white cloth waist reinforcement, with
the same material used for the pocket bags. It is well-marked with size and
manufacturer information. Also seen is the date of production, ’41. These are
a waist size 30/32. We have been informed that these breeches are
incomplete, as they are supposed to have two additional latches.
Regardless, they are near mint and desirable!
