German Imperial Sword-This is the desirable model 1889. The overall length is approx. 38 inches. The nickel silver hilt has a folding guard with the imperial eagle. The black celluloid handle is perfect. The original black enamel paint on the scabbard is approx. 50% in place. The blade is an object of beauty and has a triple engraving. The blued panel in the center of the obverse says “Jäger Regt. zu Pferde Nr.6.” This is for an infantry regiment. The blade has a beautiful motif on both the front and the back.
