German WWII Army Officers Dagger by Negele-This is a rare distributor’s name on this blade, it reads K. Negele of Tübingen. This company is still in business today and is still making uniforms. This beautiful dagger has an amber yellow handle that is damage free and other than being slightly loose from shrinkage, is in great shape. The metal fittings are nicely toned and show great details. The crossguard has also toned to a nice dark pewter gray color. The scabbard shows some wear but the details on the fittings are still excellent. The blade is in very good condition, with only a few spots of discoloration. This is not only complete with a properly tied knot, but it comes with a very nice set of super deluxe hangers. These have fancy metal fittings throughout, that have lost the majority of their silver finish, though some silver remains in the lowest details. The nickel fittings have toned to a nice gray color. The snap clips are marked DRGM. The fabric straps themselves, with the flat wire tresse basing and green velvet backing do show some wear. The owner of the dagger has written his name into the velvet on one of the straps. You can read the name Schlieb in black ink. Overall, this rare set which has always been together and is in very good condition.
