German WWII Police Bayonet by Klaas-This is a scarce Third Reich example with an overall length of approximately 16 inches. These were made when they ran out of examples from the Weimar period that they could update. Very intriguing as the grip plates on this example are still made of stag whereas most of the later Third Reich examples grips are made of wood. There are great details to hilt. The police insignia on the grip is excellent. The scabbard on this is steel with a black leather cover which shows some bumps and bruises, but is very good. The nickel-plated fittings show light wear. The blade shows the usual in and out marks but is near excellent. The blade is marked with the Robt. Klass logo. Scarcely encountered!
