German WWII RAD Hewer by Böker- Handsome piece with solid nickel fittings throughout. The grip plates are a handsome stag and in beautiful condition. The scabbard paint is 70% intact, but please be aware that this is a repaint. There is also a very small ding in the center of the reverse on this scabbard. The nickel silver with the ornate engravings are in very good condition, with only the usual bumps and bruises. The massive hewer blade rates sound with some edge sharpening and a few small nicks. The obverse shows the Labor Corps motto “Work Ennobles” deeply etched, and the reverse shows the RAD nomenclature as well as the Böker logo. The blade and scabbard are both numbered, though they are not identical, this pair has been together for a very long time. The numbers can be found on the throat of the scabbard and on the ferrule of the blade. Overall, this is in very good condition!
