WWII German Luftwaffe General Straight Legged Trousers- These are named to Oberst Menzel. They belonged to then oberst but eventual Generalleutnant Kurt Menzel. They came directly from his estate in March 2015 along with a coat that has the same date and rank. We purchased them from the individual who got them from the estate; as such they have never before been in a collection. The date lines up, as he was an oberst from 1 October 1937 until his promotion to general major on 01 October 1939. The date on the name tag of these pants is January 1939. They are private purchase, produced in very soft, great quality blue grey wool. There are a smattering of nips, tracking and a few tiny holes. These are not a deal breaker at all, as they are minor in nature. There is also some minor wear and discoloration. They are straight legged, with the handsome Luftwaffe general twin wide white stripes down the length of each leg. These are produced in white badge cloth and are in excellent condition. There are slash type hip pockets, a single rear pocket and a watch fob pocket on the right side. The fly is four button type with an additional button at the waist. There are cinch straps at each hip and straps/buttons for suspenders. The interior features blue rayon reinforcements and pocket bags. There is another waist strap with button at the closure. The tailor tag is stitched to the waist seam at the right side closure. The tailor name is M. Zöltsch Nachf., Würzburg. The waist is a size 36 and the legs are 45 1/2" in length. A great opportunity to own a named piece that has never before been in a collection!
Please note that any "accessories" (i.e. medals, badges, belts etc.) are NOT included unless stated in description!
