German WWII Early Choice SA Dagger by ASSO-Very nice offering with all of the textbook characteristics associated with an early production piece. This includes solid nickel silver fittings on hilt and scabbard. The reverse of the bottom cross guard is stamped “S” (Schlesien) for that SA group. The handle is an excellent fit with a slight chip out of the bottom right area near the crossguard. There are some nicks on the reverse of the handle, but these do not detract from the overall appearance. This has an early nickel silver eagle along with the SA runic button. Both of these are quite nice. The anodizing on the scabbard is virtually intact, and a strong asset to the appearance of this example. The blade is beautiful, but I see a few small areas where the edge has been sharpened. You probably will not see those in the photos, as I did not point them out to my photographer. A minor distraction, but still noteworthy. The ASSO trademark with the two rearing horses, is beautiful and deeply etched into the back of the blade. This example is complete with its original short brown leather hanger. A real looker!
