German WWII Police Officer’s Sword by E. Packe and Sohn-This example measures approx. 36” in length. The nickel plated hilt fittings retain 60% of their finish. The ribbed black wooden handle is faded but not damaged. The eagle in the grip is a handsome two pieced correct officer’s style which is made of copper. Originally this would have had a silver plating but that is gone revealing the handsome copper appearance. The handle retains all of the grip wire. The scabbard has approx. 60% of the finish remaining on its fittings. The original black paint is approx. 70% in place. There are 3 dents in the scabbard which should be obvious in the photos, but these do not prevent the sword blade from entering the scabbard properly. The blade has the Siegfried Waffen logo along with the E. Packe and Sohn nomenclature. The blade is in excellent condition and it retains the original buffer under the cross guard. I’ll be generous and call this very good condition overall and price it accordingly.
