German WWII SS Officer’s Sword by Paul Muller-Nice early example of textbook manufacture, the solid nickel D-guard is in excellent condition with a stylized step-up pommel cap, which appears to have never been turned. The black enameled handle has the nice original grip wire and an early SS runic button in nickel silver with a fine burnished background. The scabbard retains 80% of its original paint, the nickeled fittings have some wear which coincides with the condition of the scabbard. The screws appear to be unturned. The throat of the scabbard has SS proof marks, these are also located under the cross guard. It has a brown pebbled leather buffer. I am used to seeing a little thicker leather buffer, but perhaps this style is more indicative of a Muller production. The plated blade is in excellent condition, the reverse is deeply stamped with the initials of this maker, which are PMD. The blade is also stamped ROSTFREI. This beauty is complete with what I believe to be an original SS knot. This is a fine early production example!
