Japanese WWII Navy Officer’s Sword-Super clean example, the entire sword measures 37” long and the blade is 25” in length. The original cloth wrapping along with all the fittings, including the menuki and the tsuba are unquestionably original to this sword. It has the simulated sharkskin wrapping under the cloth on the handle. The wooden black lacquered scabbard, with its ornate brass fittings, retains 95% of its original finish. The blade is in full polish and is mint throughout, with a nice obvious temper line. I consider this piece to be machine manufactured and something that was produced in the 20th century, but certainly before the end of the war. Outstanding display piece!
