Rare Miniature Hunting Association Dagger by Hörster-This mini dagger measures 9 ½ inches (24.13cm) long. This has a brown painted handle with beautiful nickel silver fittings. The stag crossguard is in very good shape as is the clamshell. The hunting association insignia is on the handle, and is good shape, although the black finish of the swastika shows some finish loss due to normal use. The green painted steel scabbard does show moderate wear. I would approximate that 75% of the green paint remains. The nickel silver fittings on the scabbard look very good, including the acorn “hook” on the reverse. The blade is engraved on each side, with a very detailed hunting scene. One side is rather scuffed, this would have been caused by the rubbing on the blade when it was pulled out of the scabbard. This has obscured some of the hunting scene (with the dog). The obverse of the blade is marked with the stylized E.F. Hörster logo. The reverse is marked with the rostfrei “stainless steel” nomenclature. These miniature daggers are always fun to see and this is one of the rarer examples.
