German WWII Printed Silk Runner-This appears to be a silk runner from a small table or sideboard. It is 40 inches in length and 13 inches in width. It is made of a silk printed in a purple and white. Both ends of this runner display an image of an arched large cat (this image is approx. 11 inches big). We believe this is the 3X Cat emblem, 5 U-boats displayed this emblem, U-48, U-564, U-998, U-1221 and U-2518. This would be a good research project to find specifics. The silk is in very good condition, with only minimal staining and age toning. Gorgeous rare piece!
